Softball Recap: Dinwiddie Drops Season-High Score on Prince George

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dinwiddie). They came out on top against the Prince George Royals by a score of 13-9 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Generals, who suffered a 10-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kailie Bookman and Nala Bain did most of the damage at the plate: Bookman scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Bain went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Bain a new career-high. Addison Dickenson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Dinwiddie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Dinwiddie back to even at 2-2. As for Prince George, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Meanwhile, Prince George will square off against rival Colonial Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Colonials a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
