Softball Recap: North Stanly Continues Road Dominance on Monday

North Stanly entered their tilt with Gray Stone Day on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-3 last Tuesday.

Kylie Speight made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four doubles, and three runs.

In other batting news, Sammie Lowder was a standout: she scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Breauna Speight, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

North Stanly hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

North Stanly pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Gray Stone Day, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
