Softball Recap: Bandys Comes Up Short

West Lincoln hit Bandys with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell 11-6 to the Rebels. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 8-0.

Avery Alexander made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Bandys and nudges their season record down to 14-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-5 Bunker Hill (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.5% over those games). As for West Lincoln, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Bandys will square off against West Caldwell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Lincoln, they will venture away from home to challenge Bunker Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
