Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring). They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Eisenhower Eagles on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Mikayla Zepeda looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Spring got a massive performance out of Hailey Jones-Calais, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Jones-Calais is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Xianne Bettis was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
