Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring). They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over the Eisenhower Eagles on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Mikayla Zepeda looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Spring got a massive performance out of Hailey Jones-Calais, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Jones-Calais is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Xianne Bettis was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Spring's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Eisenhower, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring will square off against MacArthur at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Generals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eisenhower, they will face off against Dekaney at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
