Baseball Game Preview: Coleman Cougars vs. Two Rivers Purple Raiders

The Coleman Cougars will face off against the Two Rivers Purple Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coleman has three straight wins, Two Rivers has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Coleman got the win against Menominee by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cole Berth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Coleman got a massive performance out of Matt Tedtman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Tedtman also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Miles Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Two Rivers' offense. They lost 20-0 to Chilton on Thursday.

Coleman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Two Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
