Baseball Recap: Ridgecroft Wins Going Away Against Albemarle School

Ridgecroft had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Albemarle School Colts with a sharp 14-6 win. The game marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Noah Williams made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Ben Francis was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javieon Lyles-Askew, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.

Ridgecroft now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Albemarle School, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Ridgecroft will be playing in front of their home fans against Pungo Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Albemarle School, they will venture away from home to face off against New Life Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
