Basketball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Comes Up Short

Elmwood-Murdock lost against Freeman back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Elmwood-Murdock Knights took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeman Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Falcons are ranked eighth).

This is the second loss in a row for Elmwood-Murdock and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Elmwood-Murdock has already played their next contest (against Palmyra), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Freeman will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnson-Brock at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
