Basketball Game Preview: Sudan Hornets vs. Lorenzo Hornets

The Sudan Hornets will head out to face off against the Lorenzo Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sudan's tournament run continued when they took on Portales last Saturday. Sudan was outmatched by Portales and fell 82-36. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1011th in Texas, while the Rams are ranked 82nd in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Lorenzo played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Plains 90-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (57), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Lorenzo and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Sudan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Sudan strolled past Lorenzo in their previous matchup back in December of 2020 by a score of 50-33. Does Sudan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lorenzo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
