Basketball Recap: Sumter Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Sumter had won two straight road games and Kennedy Dantzler did her part to make it three on Friday. The Sumter Gamecocks strolled past the Hilton Head Island Seahawks with points to spare, taking the game 42-27 thanks in part to Dantzler, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 15 points along with eight boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aliana Richard, who posted six points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby O'Nan, who put up nine points.

Sumter's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hilton Head Island, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Sumter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-36 loss against David Crockett on the 21st. As for Hilton Head Island, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-12 defeat against Page on the 21st.
