Basketball Recap: Center Hill Takes a Loss

Center Hill extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosa Fort Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 58-57 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2015.

As for Rosa Fort, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 13 points.

Rosa Fort found their leader in freshman Takaedrius Maxwell, who posted 22 points and three steals. Maxwell's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Robert Boyd, who had 13 points and three steals.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Hill is headed away from home for the first time to take on Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rosa Fort, they will square off against Coahoma County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
