Football Recap: Martin Luther King Comes Up Short

Martin Luther King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 19-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the Frankford Pioneers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Martin Luther King's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Frankford, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Coming up, Martin Luther King will welcome Boys' Latin Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Frankford, they will venture away from home to square off against Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pumas' defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so the Pioneers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
