Preview: Oley Valley Lynx vs. Tulpehocken Trojans
After seven games on the road, Oley Valley is heading back home. They will take on the Tulpehocken Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Oley Valley lost to Schuylkill Valley on the road by a decisive 48-29 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oley Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Tulpehocken's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by Fleetwood on the road and fell 64-25. While losing is never fun, Tulpehocken can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 737th, while Fleetwood is ranked 158th).
Oley Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Tulpehocken, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Oley Valley against Tulpehocken when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-34 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tulpehocken's David Bednarczyk, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Oley Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
