Basketball Recap: Kennedy Memorial Takes a Loss

Kennedy Memorial fought the good fight in their overtime match against Dunellen on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Dunellen Destroyers by a score of 35-32. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Sophie Jimenez, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Rose Ciccolella was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Kennedy Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Dunellen, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9.

Kennedy Memorial has already played their next game (against Sayreville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Dunellen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Koinonia Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
