Volleyball Recap: Jackson Timberwolves vs. Stanwood Spartans
After flying high against Mariner last Monday, Jackson came back down to earth. The Jackson Timberwolves fell just short of the Stanwood Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.
Jackson actually scored more points across those five sets (103-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 25-22, 17-25, 15-12.
When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, don't look at Jai'Chelle Gonzalez-Stern. Despite the final result, she had nine digs.
Jackson dropped their record down to 14-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Stanwood, their record now sits at 9-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Stanwood, they will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Marysville-Pilchuck at 7:00 p.m.
