Softball Game Preview: University Charter Trail Blazers vs. Hale County Wildcats

The University Charter Trail Blazers will face off against the Hale County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, University Charter got the win against Keith by a conclusive 19-5.

University Charter got a massive performance out of Lola Dixon, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Dixon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Bolden, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

University Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hale County). They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Greensboro on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches in a row.

University Charter's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Hale County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
