Basketball Game Preview: Galt Warriors vs. Calaveras Red Hawks

The Galt Warriors will head out to square off against the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galt has now lost 22 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

Galt is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Laguna Creek on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors were beaten by the Cardinals 76-20. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.

Meanwhile, Calaveras won against Waterford last Friday with 62 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Red Hawks came out on top against Amador by a score of 62-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Hawks.

Calaveras' win came from a few key players Galt will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aaron Koepp, who shot 61% from the field en route to 36 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Fuller, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Galt's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Calaveras, their record is now 2-0.

Galt took a serious blow against Calaveras in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 80-46. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
