Baseball Game Preview: Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves vs. Master's Academy Patriots

The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves will venture away from home to take on the Master's Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oxbridge Academy has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Oxbridge Academy's offense. They lost 22-0 to Suncoast on Wednesday.

Oxbridge Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Donahue, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Donahue hit this season.

Meanwhile, Master's Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 16-7 margin over the Jaguars. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Luke Bona was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Bryce Ciufo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Master's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Master's Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Oxbridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
