Football Game Preview: Powers Cruisers vs. Gilchrist Grizzlies

Powers has gone a perfect 8-0 against Gilchrist recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cruisers will take on the Grizzlies at 12:00 p.m. Powers has given up an average of 32.4 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Powers is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 44 points on October 3rd, they were much more limited against Elkton on Friday. They had to suffer through a 53-7 loss at the hands of the Elks. The Cruisers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Gilchrist fell victim to Crow and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 53-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Grizzlies were not able to get on the board.

Powers' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Gilchrist, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Powers against Gilchrist when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cruisers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
