Canton is 8-2 against Athens since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Canton Eagles will face off against the Athens Hornets at 6:15 p.m. Canton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Last Friday, Canton humbled Kemp with a 77-14 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Athens was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 40-35 to Brownsboro. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 520th, while the Bears are ranked 256th).

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Athens, they dropped their record down to 13-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Canton against Athens in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 63-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
