Volleyball Preview: Streaking Cloverleaf Faces Slumping Buckeye

The Cloverleaf Colts will challenge The Buckeye Bucks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cloverleaf has three straight victories, Buckeye has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Thursday, Cloverleaf got the win against Springfield by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cloverleaf took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-11, 25-4, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Buckeye came up short against Westlake on Thursday and fell 3-1. While the Bucks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Demons 25-18 in the first set.

Buckeye started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 28-26, 25-16, 25-20.

Cloverleaf will have to contain Aurora Allen as she made an impact in Buckeye's last game. She had eight digs, seven kills, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Avery Lewandowski, who had 11 digs and three assists.

The win improved Cloverleaf's record to 4-2. As for Buckeye, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
