Football Game Preview: Warren Township Blue Devils vs. Mundelein Mustangs + How To Watch

Warren Township has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mundelein recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blue Devils will host the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Warren Township has three straight victories, Mundelein has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Mundelein better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Warren Township's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Warren Township really gets things going. The Blue Devils blew past Zion-Benton 42-22. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Zee-Bees are ranked 221st).

Aaron Stewart was his usual excellent self, rushing for 356 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 113 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Stewart was just one part of a punishing run game: Warren Township was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 395 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Mundelein came up short against Libertyville on Friday and fell 17-7.

Warren Township's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mundelein, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Warren Township strolled past Mundelein in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-20. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
