Basketball Recap: Cullman's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Jasper typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Cullman proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 38-28 win over the Jasper Vikings. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bearcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Marianna Rigsby and Taniya Windham certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Rigsby went 7 for 13 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds, while Windham posted 12 points and four steals.

Cullman's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 12-14. As for Jasper, their loss dropped their record down to 18-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fultondale the next time they take the court. Jasper will head out to face Fultondale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cullman will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
