Soccer Recap: Clay-Chalkville Comes Up Short

Clay-Chalkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pinson Valley Indians. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Clay-Chalkville couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Cristopher Lopez, who's now up to three this season.

Clay-Chalkville's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Pinson Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-8-1.

Clay-Chalkville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinson Valley, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Moody on the 17th.
