Baseball Recap: Kennedy Catholic Victorious

Kennedy Catholic won the last time they faced Cardinal Hayes and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gaels walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Cardinals.

Kennedy Catholic got a great performance from Frank Lucchese as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Lucchese also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Gaels are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dom Rubino, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Kennedy Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Vince Cannizzaro was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

The win got Kennedy Catholic back to even at 6-6. As for Cardinal Hayes, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
