Softball Game Preview: Waconia Wildcats vs. Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights

The Waconia Wildcats will face off against the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Waconia will be strutting in after a victory while Benilde-St. Margaret's will be coming in after a loss.

Waconia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Orono 14-4 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the match before.

Ada Harmon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Ady Dhaene was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Waconia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cretin-Derham Hall hit Benilde-St. Margaret's with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Knights came up short against the Raiders, falling 9-3.

Benilde-St. Margaret's saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Joslin, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Benilde-St. Margaret's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Waconia, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
