Baseball Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Nimitz faced off against Spring on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Lions, falling 8-2. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly six runs.

Nimitz saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andreus Ross, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Ross is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Andrew Curtis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Nimitz has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Spring, they moved to 13-14 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

While Nimitz had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
