Baseball Game Preview: Troy Trojans vs. Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights

The Troy Trojans will head out to face off against the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Troy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Mansfield just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Neumann Regional Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Bucktail on Thursday. The Golden Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Neumann Regional Academy got a big performance out of Gino Birch, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Nolan Fagnano was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Neumann Regional Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bucktail only posted an OBP of .318.

Neumann Regional Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Troy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
