Baseball Recap: Sunrise Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Sunrise Christian Academy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They came up short against the Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 back in March.

As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Kansas City East Christian Academy's part, Braeden Jenkins made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Jenkins has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Aidon Carpenter was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Jaycob Mieir was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Sunrise Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 16-1 defeat against St. Mary's Academy on the 3rd. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-1 loss against Christ Prep Academy on the 3rd.
