Baseball Recap: Deltona Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deltona can now relate to. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winter Springs Bears on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.

Evan Grove was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jayden Lochiatto was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Deltona's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Winter Springs, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4.

As of now, neither Deltona nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
