The Ringgold Redskins will venture away from home to challenge the Dodson Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dodson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ringgold, who comes in off a win.
Ringgold made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Plain Dealing, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ringgold put the hurt on Plain Dealing with a sharp 15-8 victory on Tuesday. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Redskins this season.

Jayla Joyner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate, firing off four runs, two triples, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. She also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Faith Clifton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Plunkett, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Dodson came up short against Harrisonburg on Friday, falling 14-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Dodson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtney Mckiddy, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Dodson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ringgold, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ringgold has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Dodson struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ringgold suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Dodson when the teams last played last Monday. Can Ringgold avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
