Volleyball Recap: Newton (Home School) Takes a Loss

Newton (Home School) was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Smoky Valley Home Educators. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Smoky Valley Home Educators earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Newton (Home School) actually scored more points across those three sets (57-53), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 13-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Newton (Home School) still got an impressive performance from Chloe Hoelscher, who had 12 digs and five blocks. Hoelscher is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Newton (Home School)'s loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Smoky Valley Home Educators, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Newton (Home School) didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Life Prep on the 13th. Smoky Valley Home Educators does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
