Soccer Game Preview: Combine Academy National vs. Winston Salem Christian

Combine Academy National is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday. They will be playing at home against the Winston Salem Christian Lions at 12:00 p.m.

Combine Academy National managed to keep up with Rabun Gap-Nacoochee until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Goats came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Winston Salem Christian waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They were the clear victors by a 6-2 margin over the Villains. Considering Winston Salem Christian have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Bishop McGuinness with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leonardo Franca (2), Yoel Pitan (2), Jozsef Szilagyi, and Bilal Toutabizi.

Combine Academy National's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Winston Salem Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-4-2.

Combine Academy National beat Winston Salem Christian by a goal in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, winning 2-1. Will the Goats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
