Recap: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Lower Richland Diamond Hornets
If the Fairfield Central Griffins were riding high off their 73-31 takedown of the North Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fairfield Central was dealt a 67-36 defeat at the hands of Lower Richland on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fairfield Central in their matchups with Lower Richland: they've now lost seven in a row.
Pa'nanjala Curry was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lower Richland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chi?nya Isaac, who scored 16 points.
Fairfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lower Richland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfield Central will take on Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lower Richland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eau Claire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
