Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) center Derik Queen ascended back into the top 10 of the Class of 2024 according to 247Sports latest rankings update after a dominant spring in the Under Armour Association.

The 6-foot-9 post scorer averaged 17.9 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 blocked shots across eight games through two sessions of Under Armour Association play. He led Team Thrill to the spring championship after posting 22 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks in a 69-49 victory over West Coast Elite in the 17U title game.

Queen has one of the best post repertoires in high school basketball and has showed development as a playmaker out of the low block this summer. He was also an efficient scorer in UAA competition, shooting 60 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line while displaying patience on the interior.

The Baltimore native was named MaxPreps Junior All-America honorable mention after an up-and-down junior campaign saw him average 11.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 61 percent from the field for the No. 2-ranked team in the final National Top 10.

Queen is expected to be a key piece for a loaded Montverde Academy roster featuring fellow elite prospects Cooper Flagg, Caleb Gaskins, Curtis Givens, Liam McNeeley, Asa Newell and Robert Wright III among others next season.
