Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Hughson's 15th in Last 17 Outings

Hughson got themselves on the board against Buhach Colony on Tuesday, but Buhach Colony never followed suit. They came out on top against the Thunder by a score of 4-0. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Thunder back in March, they had to take a 5-1 defeat.

Not much got past Max Mankins, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Buhach Colony off the board. Mankins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hughson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Blake, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Hughson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Buhach Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15-1.

Coincidentally, Hughson and Buhach Colony will both be playing Golden Valley the next time they take the field. The Huskies will head out to face the Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, while the Thunder will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
