Football Game Preview: Northeast Academy Eagles vs. Pungo Christian Academy Raiders

The Northeast Academy Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Northeast Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Community Christian, who was ranked eighth at the time (Northeast Academy was ranked 13th). The Eagles came up short against the Cyclones on Friday, falling 38-12. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cyclones: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pungo Christian Academy's offense. They were dealt a 50-0 loss at the hands of Arendell Parrott Academy on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Pungo Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Northeast Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Northeast Academy took a serious blow against Pungo Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 43-14. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
