Basketball Game Preview: Yorktown Huskers vs. Rye Garnets

The Yorktown Huskers will face off against the Rye Garnets on Tuesday. Yorktown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Yorktown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Greeley 64-61. Given the Huskers' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Quakers are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rye entered their tilt with Nyack on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They strolled past the Red Hawks with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.

Rye's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Yorktown, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

Yorktown came out on top in a nail-biter against Rye in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 48-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Yorktown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
