Volleyball Game Preview: Southern Door Eagles vs. Mishicot Indians

The Southern Door Eagles will face off against the Mishicot Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mishicot took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Southern Door, who comes in off a win.

Southern Door took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Sevastopol.

Southern Door had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.

Southern Door had a senior duo take command as Alanna Paye had 25 digs and two aces and Ava Everard had 12 digs and three aces.

Southern Door was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sevastopol only served eight.

Mishicot had taken Roncalli down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Indians came up short against the Jets, falling 3-0.

While Mishicot was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.

Southern Door has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. As for Mishicot, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-22 record this season.
