Millennium hadn't done well against Gilbert recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Millennium had just enough and edged out Gilbert 7-5. For Millennium, this counts as revenge for the 8-4 victory Gilbert walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

Charlotte McCloskey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Millennium got a big performance out of Nayelli Banuelos, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Apodaca, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win got Millennium back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Millennium will be taking part in a tournament against Pueblo at 2:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Gilbert, they will take on Arcadia in a tournament on Friday.
