Recap: Stringer Red Devils vs. Simmons Blue Devils
The Stringer Red Devils''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 64-12 loss at the hands of Simmons. While losing is never fun, Stringer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Simmons is ranked 94th).
Although Stringer took the loss, they still got scores from Ashton Cook and Khylan Sinegal.
Stringer's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.2 points per game. As for Simmons, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Stringer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Simmons will square off against Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
