Basketball Recap: Polk County's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Polk County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 51-29 margin over the East Henderson Eagles. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Polk County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Staton out in front who shot 41% from the field on her way to 20 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Staton has scored at least a third of the Wolverines' points. Amiyah Waters was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards.

Polk County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, East Henderson still got an impressive performance from Mamie Hill, who went 7-for-16 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Hill has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Polk County's record is now 3-0. As for East Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Polk County will head out to take on East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for East Henderson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against T.C. Roberson at 6:30 p.m.
