Softball Game Preview: Lackawanna Steelers vs. Iroquois Redhawks

Lackawanna is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home field against the Iroquois Redhawks at 4:30 p.m.

Lackawanna is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Cheektowaga, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Iroquois had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They never let the Flyers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Redhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Lackawanna's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Iroquois, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Lackawanna might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Iroquois in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Steelers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
