Baseball Recap: Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets vs. Fishburne Military Caissons
Randolph-Macon Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Fishburne Military Caissons by a score of 9-6. This was payback for the Yellow Jackets, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.
Thomas Glasgow and Finn Strabley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Glasgow pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Strabley struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Glasgow went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Strabley scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Glasgow is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Gavin Grove and Owen Warner did most of the damage at the plate: Grove scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Warner scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Warner a new career-high in RBI (three).
Randolph-Macon Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-4 victory against Front Royal HomeSchool on the 11th. Fishburne Military will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roanoke Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th.
