Soccer Game Preview: Clinton vs. Madison Central + Official Tickets

Clinton and Madison Central are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but likely not for long. The Arrows will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Clinton needed a bit of extra time to put away Germantown. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mavericks a 1-0 shutout. Given Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Germantown are ranked 44th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clinton's one-goal win came courtesy of Jayden Fields, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison Central). They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Murrah on Tuesday. Give Madison Central's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Madison Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-0-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matches. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0-2.
