Football Recap: Champion Takes a Loss

Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Liberty Leopards and fell 67-7. The Golden Flashes lost against the Leopards in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 35-7 score last time.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Champion will square off against rival Newton Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Liberty is set to take on their familiar foe Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
