Basketball Recap: The Stonehaven School Comes Up Short

The Stonehaven School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 96-42 defeat at the hands of the Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 87-30 back in November of 2024.

Notre Dame Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ki?Andrey Thomas led the charge by going 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points along with eight assists and six boards. Thomas has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times he's played. Geronimo Holmes was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Stonehaven School's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Stonehaven School will challenge Dominion Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hearts Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.7 points per game this season.
