Football Game Preview: Jasper Vikings vs. Gadsden City Titans + How To Watch

The Jasper Vikings will face off against the Gadsden City Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Jasper blew past Lawrence County, posting a 49-7 victory. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Jasper can attribute much of their success to Lincoln Smothers, who rushed for 26 yards and two scores, and Zion Coger, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. What's more, Coger posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jasper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence County only rushed for 104.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last matchup, Gadsden City made sure to put some points up on the board against Fultondale on Thursday. The Titans claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Wildcats. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 254th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gadsden City found their leader in sophomore Sam Sollie, who threw for 170 yards and three touchdowns.

Jasper's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Gadsden City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
