Volleyball Game Preview: Woodstock Academy Centaurs vs. Norwich Free Academy Wildcats

The Woodstock Academy Centaurs will head out on the road to take on the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Woodstock Academy came up short against Newington on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Centaurs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodstock Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Norwich Free Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Britain. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Hurricanes 25-20 in the first set.

Norwich Free Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-17.

Norwich Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Woodstock Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Everything went Woodstock Academy's way against Norwich Free Academy when the teams last played back in April, as Woodstock Academy made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Centaurs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
