Soccer Recap: Santa Maria Comes Up Short

If Santa Maria was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Paso Robles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Santa Maria Saints came up short against the Pioneer Valley Panthers on Friday, falling 4-0. Considering the last time the Saints couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Santa Maria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-2. As for Pioneer Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Righetti the next time they take the pitch. Pioneer Valley will host Righetti at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Santa Maria will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
