McPherson put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Winfield Vikings 22-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bullpups, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brenden Doile and Carter Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Doile pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Allen pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Doile scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Allen scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, McPherson got a massive performance out of Brock Richardson, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Richardson has posted since back in March of 2024. Isaac Barnett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.

McPherson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winfield only posted an OBP of .250.

McPherson pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 9.67 strikeouts in those games compared to only three in the others. As for Winfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McPherson beat Winfield by a score of 22-0 later that day.
